You won't be able to launch SAP CRM WEB UI unless you have set up the hosts file and the browser will say 'Page cannot be displayed' until then.

SAP Hosts file

The hosts file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names.

So, here are the steps to set up your hosts file.
  1. Go to the path  C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
  2. Open the 'hosts' file using notepad.
  3. At the end of the file, mention <IP Address of the server which can be found in Logon Pad> space <Host Name which can also be found in the URL>.

Here are the rules for the host file entry:
  • Each entry should be kept on an individual line.
  • The IP address should be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
  • The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one space.
